The highly-anticipated blockbuster "The Predator" is finally in theaters, and fans are stoked. So, it's also the perfect time to try and settle an iconic debate of terrifying extraterrestrial species—the Xenomorph from "Alien" versus the Predator. When not implanting larvae into living hosts or "facehugging," Xenomorphs destroy any life form that stands in their way. But the Predator literally kills for sport. Which species would win in a brawl? 👽

It's been a polarizing debate among movie and comic book geeks for ages. Both the "Alien" and "Predator" franchises are owned by 20th Century Fox, and sci-fi geeks patiently waited for a face-off for nearly two decades, until the release of 2004's "AVP: Alien vs. Predator." A poorly-received sequel, "Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem," was released in 2007 featuring a hybrid monster—the Predalien.

Below is the synopsis of "AVP: Alien vs. Predator," per IMDb:

During an archaeological expedition on Bouvetøya Island in Antarctica, a team of archaeologists and other scientists find themselves caught up in a battle between the two legends. Soon, the team realize that only one species can win.

Watch a clip of the climactic battle between the Alien Queen and a Predator below.

Predators hunt for sport, but Xenomorphs have no impulse control. Xenomorphs only know to kill any species that poses a threat... and anything else, really. Xenomorph larvae are parasitic, which mean they can implant any living host. Just look at that Predalien hybrid. Just a handful of Xenomorph larvae could take down predators in bulk.

Only doom and destruction follows the Xenomorph, something that was apparent back in the original 1979 film. Watch this terrifying clip from the first film below.

The Predator may be "one ugly motherfucker," but it's also not to be fucked with. Pray you don't become their prey. They may be a little nicer than Xenomorphs—because the species operates by a code and are not mindless killing machines—but they still hunt for the hell of it. It's a sport to them!

While Xenomorphs are clearly intergalactic threats, Predators have proven to be the more resilient species by killing off the Alien Queen in "AVP." Watch this clip of a Predator from the original 1987 film, and we guarantee you'll agree nothing can stand a chance against this extraterrestrial warrior.
