Plastic surgery is synonymous with the name Kardashians. The ladies and gents of the clan have been very open about their willingness to go under the knife. Professionals have seen an influx in folks who are down for a little nip, and tuck and some are requesting to look like Kim Kardashian. But experts say going under the knife is still pretty risky and isn't as normal as the Kardashians make it seem. Is cosmetic surgery normal?

On one of the latest episodes of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," Kris Jenner gifts her friend with the opportunity to get a facelift. And her friend took her up on the offer. 

Jenner was upfront and candid with the fact she has had a facelift and her breast enhanced. Her daughter Kylie Jenner also spoken openly about undergoing a procedure to enhance her lips. Kim has been pretty hush hush on the work she had done, but that doesn't stopped folks from wanting to look like her. Men and women are marching into doctor offices and requesting to look like Kim so often that professionals are calling it the "Kardashian Effect." According to Laser, Lipo and Vein Center:

Some plastic surgeons around the globe have claimed they have seen inquiries increase more than 70% from patients who are seeking looks such as those flaunted by the Karadashians. These inquiry increases are really not surprising, as the Kardashian sisters have long been beauty and fashion icons.

According to The Huffington Post, you should never get plastic surgery. The publication warns its readers procedures are costly, can be temporary, and possibly addicting. There are major health risks involved like blood clotting and you may put your body at risk of an infection. The outlet also pointed out you may come out of your procedure unsatisfied. Kim K has admitted she is insecure about her enhanced derriere and says she cries about it daily. She also told People Magazine

“I love curves, but I don’t love my butt and my hips being so big. I totally have insecurities.”
