Superhero TV shows have come a long, long way since the well-intentioned but generally cornball shows of earlier decades. We’re facing off the best-loved superhero shows of the decade. In the second round, we have Marvel/Fox's Mutant Underground in "The Gifted" and Netflix's dysfunctional, adopted family of damaged heroes in "The Umbrella Academy." Which show do you love most?

"The Gifted" was a spinoff series in Fox's X-Men Universe. The series followed an array of powerful and persevering mutants who were being hunted by the government. The show was canceled after two seasons, as Fox's hold on X-Men-related properties ended when Disney acquired the company. Hence, we'll someday see mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Nevertheless, "The Gifted" definitely had a cult following and the series chronicled in detail xenophobia, prejudice and bigotry and what it's like to be hunted for being who you are. The series holds a fresh rating of 79 percent and an audience score of 69 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).

"The Umbrella Academy" follows a dysfunctional family of heroes who were adopted shortly after birth—all born on the same day—by the cold and eccentric billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Hargreeves trained the superpowered kids to become heroes, but not without giving each kid their own version of daddy issues, damage and baggage well into their adulthoods. Oh, and of course, the broken superpowered family must reunite to save the world and stop an apocalypse. You'll never guess who causes the end of days! "The Umbrella Academy" holds a fresh rating of 77 percent and an audience score of 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).
