The Avalanches release new music after 16 years — worth the wait?

After making their mark on music history 16 years ago with the classic debut album, Since I Left You, the Avalanches have finally returned with new music and the promise of a forthcoming album.

The new single, entitled Frankie Sinatra (featuring Danny Brown and MF Doom) premiered last night on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show following an interview with Tony Di Blasi and Robbie Chater. In classic Avalanches style, a mind-bending, psychedelic video was also released to accompany the track. Both the interview and the video are embedded below.

While most fans are simply shocked and excited for the group's unexpected return, many are asking if it was worth the wait.

What do you think? After 16 years, #AvalanchesJoy or #AvalanchesMeh?
