Favorite underrated R&B dancing queen: Teyana Taylor or Tinashe? | The Tylt
Teyana Taylor and Tinashe slay their fans with sultry vocals and smooth dance moves, but both queens haven’t fully been given their 10s within the mainstream industry. Taylor’s music is constantly delayed and her LP, “K.T.S.E.,” while praised, is underrated due to lack of promotion. Teyana has since dropped "The Album" on Juneteenth 2020, filled with bops. Tinashe feels her music isn’t supported by the industry, while her fans are also frustrated that she’s under-appreciated. Though, her "Songs For You" LP garnered praise in 2019, while being released independently. Who's your favorite underrated R&B dancing queen?

Teyana Taylor dropped "K.T.S.E." in 2018, an album full of R&B bops, but the LP fell through the cracks and did not receive the mainstream recognition it deserved. Her project features "Gonna Love Me," "A Rose in Harlem" and the delayed single "WTP." Since then, Teyana released "The Album," on Juneteenth 2020.
Taylor began to really rise to prominence when featured in Kanye West's "Fade" music video, dancing her way into our hearts, but while there's still momentum, she has yet to fully breakout into mainstream success and many blame Kanye's GOOD Music label.

Tinashe's career seemed promising with her breakout single "2 On," but since then, she's been under-promoted. Back in 2017, Tinashe received backlash for saying she did not feel the Black community supported her like Beyoncé or Rihanna.
But her fans are also frustrated, feeling as though her bops and ability to perform are underrated. Some argue she slayed in "Rent: Live," just another example of Tinashe being overlooked. And while her latest project "Songs For You" garnered acclaim, the album isn't a commercial success. Just check out the music video to her underrated bop "Company" and you'll see why fans want more recognition for her.
