Favorite Thursday Night NBC comedy: 'Superstore' or 'The Good Place'?

Thursday nights on NBC are going to be a bit brighter with the new season of “The Good Place” and the soon-to-return “Superstore.” "The Good Place" is a goofy yet philosophical look at the afterlife, while "Superstore" is a slice-of-life comedy about the purgatory of retail. You might watch them both anyhow, but which do you like most? 😂📺

Jean-Paul Sartre said "L'enfer, c'est les autres." Not a very funny thing to say, but in a way, that's the premise of both shows, whether the hell of retail or the more literal one.

#TeamSuperstore

"Superstore" focuses on relationships between customers and coworkers, as well as the banality of retail hyper-marts. The situations at Cloud 9 are equally absurd and perfectly feasible in real life. Somehow, the tone is both dry and over-the-top at once.

New episodes will be in stock starting Thursday, Oct 4.

In “The Good Place,” Eleanor Shellstrop is a not a good person, but due to a mishap, she ends up in what seems to be a paradise after death. It’s equal parts “The Prisoner” and part “Defending Your Life." "The Good Place" is certainly funnier than “The Prisoner,” but only slightly less influenced by Kafka.

"The Good Place" only show to ever make Cormac McCarthy funny...or to even try.
