Superman made his debut in the comics more than 80 years ago on April 18, 1938. Some fans still consider Christopher Reeve as the quintessential Superman, but Henry Cavill's supporters argue that he's surpassed the legend. Cavill rose to prominence in "Man of Steel," and it was no easy task stepping into the hero boots of an already iconic movie role.
