Should you wear sunglasses inside?

A pair of great sunglasses instantly takes your outfit from drab to fab. But there is a debate brewing on if they are appropriate to wear indoors. At one time, wearing shades indoors was a celebrity staple but now everyone has joined in on the trend. Sunglasses are the perfect accessory to wear indoors if aren't looking your best or if you want to avoid eye contact with others. But experts say wearing sunglasses inside is not a good idea because they can damage your eyes. Should you wear sunglasses inside?

Sunglasses are designed to literally protect your eyes from the sun's UV rays so there is really no reason to wear them indoors. According to Axonoptics wearing shades inside is actually dangerous. 

Wearing sunglasses indoors is not a viable option. A 2015 study published in Elsevier Survey of Ophthalmology concluded that, “the use of sunglasses indoors must be strongly discouraged. By wearing dark sunglasses indoors, patients are dark adapting their retinas and aggravating their sensitivity to light.”
