Some Trekkies have been longing for another "Star Trek" series, and got their wish with the highly anticipated "Discovery." Fans are excited that "Star Trek" is back on TV, and the diversity on "Discovery" is an added bonus for many Trekkies.

Others argue the show feels too much like a standalone, and it isn't as well crafted as they would like. Skeptics don't have high hopes for the show, but some dedicated Trekkies will continue to give the show a chance by watching.
