Should the X-Men move to the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Fox faces many issues with its Marvel-related franchises. Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) aren't currently signed on to do anymore X-Men films. Bryan Singer won't return as director of future projects. "Gambit" lost its director and is on hold. "Deadpool" plans to be a trilogy, but the sequel to original blockbuster faces production issues. This is the perfect opportunity for Fox to make that move to the MCU once and for all.
At this point, the damage has been done. MCU is deep into its continuity. In the MCU, mutants—who are born with extraordinary abilities—don't exist. Instead, heroes with superpowers like Luke Cage, Spider-Man and Jessica Jones are only "mutates"—meaning they acquired their superpowers through alteration of their DNA. How in the hell can mutants be introduced into the MCU without rebooting the universe?
Maybe the multi-verse, but will that be too confusing for MCU fans?
