“Supernatural” is still one of the CW’s most popular shows. In fact, it’s one of the longest-standing scripted series on American prime time. But despite its longevity, the network wasn’t looking to cancel the show. Its impending finale comes off as far too rushed and last-minute.

The SPN family has become a mainstay in the lives of many. Audiences have become emotionally invested in the Winchesters and their crew for nearly two decades. Letting go is hard, especially when it feels like the end is premature.

There are those who feel “Supernatural” has overstayed its welcome. Originally lauded as new and original, the show's long run has made for some questionable moments. The show’s main stars—Jared Padelecki and Jensen Ackles—admitted to basing the decision on a desire to go out on a good note. As Ackles explained, “Nobody wanted to see this show fizzle out.”

Some fans admit that while they’re glad “Supernatural” has reached its end, that doesn’t mean they won’t be sad to see it go. Don’t you cry no more
