"The Handmaid's Tale" has been a favorite for decades, but once it was adapted into a Hulu series of the same name, the story reached new levels of popularity. Fans will have new material to sink their teeth into in the form of "The Testaments," which picks up 15 years after "The Handmaid's Tale" cliffhanger ending. CBS News spoke with Atwood, asking if she might reveal any hints about the plot:
"We know from book one that Gilead ends," she said. "But we don't know how. But we're a little closer to knowing how."
The novel has already been long-listed for the Booker Prize, and fans everywhere are dying to find out what happens next in the world of Gilead.
Fans went crazy for the first installment in the Legacy of Orïsha series, "Children of Blood and Bone," when it was first released in 2018. Author Tomi Adeyemi created a new fantasy world for readers to devour: the Kingdom of Orïsha. In the series, a monarchy-led genocide wipes out magic in the kingdom, and a group of unlikely friends embark on a gods-sanctioned mission to bring it back. Goodreads summarizes the plot of the sequel:
With civil war looming on the horizon, Zélie finds herself at a breaking point: she must discover a way to bring the kingdom together or watch as Orïsha tears itself apart.
If you read "Children of Blood and Bone," you know "Children of Virtue and Vengeance" will undoubtedly be another page-turning piece of the greater story.
