Selena was pretty darn successful in 2015 and 2016 due to her chart-topping album "Revival." But she was determined to remain atop in 2017. She kicked off the year with a collaboration with Kygo. "It Ain't Me" peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and slayage didn't stop there. Selena decided to tease Selenators with hit single after hit single, all of which peaked in the top 40 on the Hot 100. "Bad Liar" followed "It Ain't Me."

"Bad Liar" dropped in the late spring, just in time to become a summertime smash. The song details trying to hide one's true feelings for someone else, but not quite being able to. The pop-rock single peaked at #20 on the Hot 100 and got Selenators hyped on what more was to come.

Below are some notable lyrics, per Genius

🎶 I was walking down the street the other day. Tryna distract myself. But then I see your face. Oh wait, that's someone else. Tryna play it coy. Tryna make it disappear. But just like the battle of Troy.🎶

Selena followed with another smash "Fetish," but it's her hit with Marshmello that's currently climbing the charts. So far, "Wolves" has peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Selena sported her new blonde look and steamed up the stage at the 2017 American Music Awards while performing her latest hit.

Below are some significant lyrics, per Genius

🎶 I've been running through the jungle. I've been running with the wolves. To get to you, to get to you. I've been down the darkest alleys. Saw the dark side of the moon to get to you, to get to you. I've looked for love in every stranger. Took too much to ease the anger. All for you, yeah, all for you. I've been running through the jungle. I've been crying with the wolves to get to you, to get to you, to get to you.🎶

With hit after hit, Selenators are anxious for Selena's third solo studio album. She told Billboard she's already recorded enough material for two albums, but she's taking her time making it perfect. But fans can definitely expect the full-length project in 2018. And if the past is any indication, she's gonna slay her fans and the pop game away, okay? No worries. In her own words:

"I'm ready. I want to get back in and re-focus on all of my music," Gomez explained to Apple Music's Zane Lowe on Wednesday. "To be honest, I feel like I have two albums already completed, but I'm wanting to figure it out. So it's a lot sooner than I think people anticipate. I want to call the shots, I want it to be good, I want to be ready, I don't want to do anything that's forced. It will be soon."

A lot of controversy and speculation followed Camila's name following her split with Fifth Harmony in late 2016. Although heartbroken, both Harmonizers and her fledging fan army, Camilizers, knew she was gonna be running pop in 2017. Yes, that quick. We've seen it before with Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake. All of these pop icons were in pop groups before stepping out on their own and becoming among the best-selling artists of all time. In all of those cases, these entertainers' names show up twice as part of iconic groups and as solo acts. Years from now, Camila's name could very likely join the list.

"Crying in the Club" didn't crack the top 40 on the Hot 100, but the single is a major move as the first single on her part since going solo. It's the perfect anthem after her 5H breakup. "Crying in the Club" is all about lifting yourself up after a downward spiral. Camila might have never been fully at the bottom, but the 5H breakup had to be both an exciting yet scary moment for her. But 2017 has proven that Camila is on the rise.

Below are some significant lyrics, per Genius

🎶 So put your arms around me tonight. Let the music lift you up. Like you've never been so high. Open up your heart to me. Let the music lift you up. Like you've never been this free. 'Til you feel the sunrise. Let the music warm your body. Like the heat of a thousand fires. The heat of a thousand fires.🎶

Then Camila's big breakthrough occurred with "Havana" featuring Young Thug. Her label might have doubted the single, but hey, Columbia Records told Queen Bey she didn't have not one hit on her debut solo album "Dangerously in Love." Columbia was right—Bey had five! Camila is already experiencing that kind of early solo success with "Havana." The Latin pop, dance anthem is currently slaying the Hot 100, currently holding #2 on the chart.

Below are notable lyrics, per Genius

🎶 Havana, ooh na-na (ayy). Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na-na (ayy, ayy). He took me back to East Atlanta, na-na-na, ah. Oh, but my heart is in Havana (ayy). There's somethin' 'bout his manners (uh huh). Havana, ooh na-na (uh).🎶

Camila had been prepping for her solo career even while slaying with Fifth Harmony, scoring a hit with Shawn Mendes called "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and later with Machine Gun Kelly "Bad Things."

Camilizers are excited about the former 5H member's self-titled solo project, dropping January 12. Yeah, Camila has her heart set not only on Havana but the world in 2018. In the meantime of waiting, fans can jam out to two new tracks "Never Be The Same" and "Real Friends."

She told Billboard

“The easiest route would be to shut my mouth, sing the songs, wear the clothes and keep going, you know?” says Cabello with a jittery laugh, weighing life in 5H against going it alone. “I mean, [we were] at the peak of our career. It’s definitely not the safe option.” But, she says, “I have it in my DNA. The way my mom raised me, it has always been: Don’t settle. Jump and hope you grow wings on the way down.” She flings her arms like she’s on a roller coaster. “I feel alive!”
