Scarlett Johansson is starring in “Ghost In The Shell” | The Tylt
Ghost In The Shell, or GiTS as it is called by fans, is a Manga Anime film strongly linked to Japan's history in the 80-90s.
Many fans are upset that Scarlett Johansson has been cast for the lead role in DreamWorks' upcoming adaptation. For starters - Johansson isn't Japanese. But, as the Verge points out, the "casting is even worse than it seems." It's a straight up #GiTSFail.
Defenders of #TeamScarJo point out that Johansson is one of only a handful of women that can get a movie greenlit by signing on. She's a popular actress and we should see a bit more of the movie before we judge. In the end, she's just an actress doing her job.
