"Save the Last Dance" was deep but only received a 53 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film touched on the harsh realities the main character Sara was blind to before she started attending a majority-black high school. She was under the impression everyone lives in the same world until her friend challenged her to open her eyes and see for people of color, the world is very different. The film delivers a powerful message to its audience in between some very iconic dance sequences. Take a look at the scene below when Sara's friends Chenille schools her on life. (Yes, that is Kerry Washington!)

"Bring It On" only scored a 63 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, but the important message the film unpacked about race is unmeasurable. "Bring It On" tackled the disparities people of color face and how their art can be undervalued until it is solidified and repackaged by their white counterparts. "Bring It On" is a hilarious but thought-provoking teen movie. Catch the iconic scene below when The Clovers confront The Toros about stealing their cheers.
