Pop vocal album of the year: 'Dangerous Woman' or 'Purpose'?
It's the end of the year! And throughout December, we're facing-off the best songs, albums, movies, TV shows, comic books, video games, sports, pro athletes and entertainers of 2016. The "Best of 2016" is chosen by a combination of popularity, impact, acclaim, rankings and/or amount sold. But ultimately, we want you to let us know who and what from 2016 won the year in each category.
Ariana and Justin are young pop stars on top of their game. But which artist had the better pop vocal album of 2016?
And don't forget to check out these other end of year debates:
Ariana's sound matured with her "Dangerous Woman" album. Can't you tell from the album's title? And if any artist has the best pop vocals—it's Ariana. With her powerhouse voice and infectious, sexy pop tunes, Ariana set the charts on fire. Billboard ranked "Dangerous Woman" as the 22nd best album of 2016. And the LP ranked at #11 on Rolling Stone's "Best Pop Albums of 2016" list. Like Nicki Minaj rapped, "Young Ariana run pop." Talk about acclaim.
Plenty of critics gave "Dangerous Woman" good reviews, but "Purpose" is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Pop Vocal Album category and for Album of the Year. Biebs scored the biggest first week of his career and the biggest first week sales of any artist in 2015 with more than 500,000 units sold. His album came out in late 2015, but it's one of the top-selling albums of 2016. Way to go, Biebs.
