Below is the synopsis of "Ghost," also thanks to IMDB

After a young man is murdered, his spirit stays behind to warn his lover of impending danger, with the help of a reluctant psychic.

"Ghost" is the 171st highest-grossing film worldwide of all time, and it's all because of the star power of Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

Patrick Swayze plays Sam, a young man who is murdered and tries to save his girlfriend as a ghost. His performance didn't earn him an Oscar, or even a nod like Best Supporting Actress-winner Whoopi Goldberg, but he did receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor — Musical or Comedy in 1991. The film itself was nominated for Best Picture and there has never been a fantasy, comedy, romance, dramatic tearjerker like it before then or ever since!

Check out this tearjerker of a scene below where Molly, played by Demi Moore, finally believes that Sam is a ghost.
