Is it appropriate for kids to wear makeup?

Twitter was instantly divided when Kim Kardashian released her annual Christmas photo, revealing her five-year-old daughter in a bright red lip. North West stole the photo dressed in all black while sporting perfectly applied red lipstick. Some feel North is too young to wear lipstick, especially red because it is perceived as a mature color. But some see no issue with children wearing lipstick and say she is playing "dress up."  Should kids wear makeup?

Traditionalists will forever see lipstick on children as a huge no-no. It implies the child is moving too fast and is acting "grown." Many believe parents should let children be kids and that doesn't include wearing lipstick.
