Many of us are going stir-crazy in our homes while we social distance and quarantine to keep ourselves and others safe during the coronavirus pandemic. But there are plenty of ways we can entertain ourselves and free our minds from worry around the world.
The Tylt's answer has been to stream the best of Netflix's original content and have you vote on your fave. You’ve voted for the title for Best Netflix Reality Show. Thanks to you all, we have a winner and ranking based on how you voted, in order from the bottom spot to the top. Check out our user-voted ranking below on which reality shows viewers should watch on Netflix!
8. ‘Magic For Humans’
“Magic for Humans” follows magician-comedian Justin Willman as he performs magnificent magic tricks for people on the streets. Sounds fun and mesmerizing, right? It is! Well, it wasn’t fun enough for the show to land at a higher spot on this list. “Magic for Humans” gained only 27 percent of the vote against “Queer Eye” in the first round.
7. ‘Too Hot to Handle’
“Too Hot to Handle” follows hot singles on “the shores of paradise” who must give up sex in order to win $100,000. Sounds easier said than done. “THTH” only places at no. 7 on our list, but the show did get 40 percent of the vote against “Love Is Blind.” With a title like this, The Tylt still recommends you check out this dating reality hit.
6. ‘Dating Around’
Speaking of dating, Netflix has definitely hit the jackpot at producing dating shows which—in a saturated area of reality TV—is pretty impressive. “Dating Around” follows singles as they go on a few blind dates in hopes of finding someone worthy of that second date. Yikes. Dating is messy already, but when you add cameras, it’s a whole other level of messy. The show lost in a very tight race with “Selling Sunset” in the first round. “Dating Around” gained 46 percent of the vote. Still, this dating show is clearly something that streamers love to watch! So you should check it out too!
5. ‘The Circle’
“The Circle” only allows contestants to communicate with each other through an eponymous social app and not leave their apartments. This reality competition gives contestants the opportunity to create whatever social media identities they want for the purpose of impressing the other contestants and not being voted out of “The Circle” by said peers. Whew! “Nailed It!” literally nailed it and pulled an upset in the first round, eliminating “The Circle” from the bracket. “The Circle” still garnered 46 percent of the vote in round one, so it’s clearly something that fans have responded to and so should you!
4. ‘Selling Sunset’
“Selling Sunset” is all about the lifestyles of the rich (and famous), so there’s definitely drama on this show that follows real estate agents as they sell property to the LA elite. And “Selling Sunset” was elite enough to stop the competition in the first round, but in the semi-final, the show gained only 19.5 percent of the vote against heavyweight “Queer Eye.” But since this LA reality gem made it to the semi-final, we suggest you still check it out.
3. ‘Love Is Blind’
“Love Is Blind” follows 30 singles who must speed date without ever seeing each other. Then, the men propose to the women they want to marry before moving on to a couples retreat, additional dating and living together before the wedding. Whew, child. It’s a lot. The dating show is popular Netflix series, but “Nailed It!” shouldn’t be underestimated. “Love Is Blind” lost in a tight race against “Nailed It!” with 49 percent of the vote in the semi-final.
2. ‘Nailed It!’
“Nailed It!” follows bad home bakers who must redeem themselves by creating masterful baked goods in order to win a $10,000 prize. Speaking of prizes, clap it up for “Nailed It” because the show crushed the competition in the first round and semi-final. Though, it wasn’t enough to win the crown, “Nailed It!” is still worth watching.
1. ‘Queer Eye’
And the winner is…
"Queer Eye” is a reboot of the early aughts' “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” and follows the new Fab Five as they help others with grooming, fashion, food and wine, culture and lifestyle, and design. While the original series focused on tolerance, the second series focuses on acceptance. It’s a tearjerker for sure. Thousands of votes later, “Queer Eye” won the crown with 58 percent of the final vote! This reality show isn’t messy like many of the rest, but it’s truly an inspiration to viewers and hence, Tylters.
