4. ‘The Punisher’

Coming in at no. 4 is “The Punisher,” who sets out to avenge his murdered family, and to “punish” and kill any crime-doers. Just the sheer amount of weaponry and violence in the series, whew! Well, this spin-off came in last place to “Daredevil,” with only 29 percent of the vote in the first round. Though the series holds a fresh rating of 63 percent and an audience score of 82 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).

3. ‘Jessica Jones’

“Jessica Jones” follows a super-powered private investigator who helps others solve cases, but is also a troubled person trying to navigate her dark past involving a villainous mind-manipulator while trying to save others from his wrath. The series went up against another fan-favorite show, “Luke Cage,” bringing in 46 percent of the vote. Still, with a fresh rating of 83 percent and an audience score of 79 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at time of publication), this superheroine series is worth the watch.

2. ‘Luke Cage’

“Luke Cage” was a groundbreaking superhero show that became a cultural phenomenon on TV, much like “Black Panther” was for cinema. The show follows a bulletproof Black Harlemite who protects his neighborhood from drug lords, dirty politicians and corruption. “Luke Cage” holds a fresh rating of 87 percent and an audience score of 71 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). Even coming in at no. 2 with 24 percent of the vote in the final, this groundbreaking show—which precedes “Black Lightning”—is worth checking out now.

1. ‘Daredevil’

“Daredevil” is a blind crimefighter at night, with heightened senses and martial arts on his side, who protects his neighborhood—Hell’s Kitchen—from evil forces like the Kingpin. The series holds both a fresh rating and an audience score of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). “Daredevil” was the first Netflix Marvel show, paving the way for “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist” and “The Punisher.” The Fandom Without Fear is still campaigning to #SaveDaredevil. So it comes as no surprise that “Daredevil” is no. 1. If you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t watched this series, do so. You just might join the campaign for the show’s return!
