8. “Paradise PD”

This raunchy animated comedy follows the bizarre adventures of a police department made up of incompetent cops. While the show does not have a high audience score and holds a rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it has survived for two seasons on Netflix. “Paradise PD” brought in an estimated 21 percent of the vote against another raunchy cartoon—“Big Mouth.” “Paradise PD” also brought in the lowest amount of votes in total, being eliminated in the first round and placing the show at no. 8 on our list. Still, if you love raunchy and outrageous adult cartoons, then this may be the show for you.

7. “F Is for Family”

This animated adult sitcom is set in the the early-to-mid ’70s and is about the misadventures of an Irish-American family. “F Is for Family” is reminiscent of ’70s sitcoms, and nostalgically does not sugarcoat the times and how families functioned back then. While the series did not stand a chance against “BoJack Horseman” in round one with only 21 percent, “F Is for Family” holds a fresh rating of 86 percent and an audience score of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). So even coming in at no. 7, it’s worth watching.

6. “Love, Death & Robots”

This animated anthology series with short stories focuses on horror, comedy, science fiction and fantasy. But regardless of the genre, the series has plenty of love, death and robots, too. The ambitious series features different animated styles alongside storytelling—holding a fresh rating of 77 percent and an audience score of 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).

5. “Aggretsuko”

This fun anime series is all about an under-appreciated office worker who releases after hours by singing death metal. “Aggretsuko” currently holds a fresh rating of 100 percent and an audience score of 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). Wow! And out of the shows that were eliminated in the first round, this adult anime series garnered the most votes!

4. “Castlevania”

This dark fantasy, horror-themed adult cartoon made it to the semi-finals, only to be eliminated by “BoJack Horseman” with 33 percent of the final vote. Nevertheless, “Castlevania”—focused on a vampire hunter having to go toe-to-toe with Dracula and his demonic army—is definitely worth watching. The series holds a fresh rating of 93 percent and an audience score of 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).

3. “Disenchantment”

This adult cartoon styled like “The Simpsons” scored the most votes out of the shows that didn’t make it to the final round. “Disenchantment” follows an adventurous, alcoholic princess and her friends on their misadventures as she rebels from the throne. While the series holds a fresh rating of 68 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, “Disenchantment” also has an audience score of 75 percent and a third season underway (at the time of publication).

2. “Big Mouth”

Wow, “Big Mouth” came so close! The raunchy comedy about pre-teenagers and the manifestation of their hormones and emotions places at no. 2 on our list. In the final, “Big Mouth” scored 39.5 percent of the vote and garnered the second most votes in the collective bracket. The popular show holds a fresh rating of 100 percent and an audience score of 78 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). “Big Mouth” is not only coming back for a fourth season, but also seasons five and six, according to Esquire. So clearly fans are eating up this comedy, and if you haven’t already, so should you.

1. “BoJack Horseman”

“BoJack Horseman” definitely paved the way for adult cartoons on Netflix with its early-on popularity. The show ended in 2020 with six seasons and 77 episodes under its belt. The satirical adult comedy centers around a toxic anthropomorphic horse protagonist, and focuses on a variety of real-life issues, like depression and alcoholism, with a showbiz Hollywood backdrop. While it’s satire, “BoJack” gets really real and has set itself apart from other, more raunchy adult animated series. Hence, fans voted the breakout Netflix adult cartoon as the Best Netflix Adult Cartoon. If that’s not enough for you to watch this already popular series, “BoJack” holds a fresh rating of 93 percent and an audience score of 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication). So our no. 1 pick, based on how Tylters voted, is definitely worth the watch.
