"It Ain't Hard to Tell" formerly known as "Nas Will Prevail" was his demo for Columbia Records in 1991. The song sample's Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" and a jazzy sound. While it only peaked at #91 on the Billboard Hot 100, it's considered a lyrical hip-hop classic, which helped launch Nas' career and was released as the second single off of his debut album—"Illmatic." The LP is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever and helped redefine East Coast hip-hop in the '90s.

Below are some significant lyrics to "It Ain't Hard to Tell," per Genius.

🎶 It ain't hard to tell, I excel, then prevail. The mic is contacted, I attract clientele. My mic check is life or death, breathin' a sniper's breath. I exhale the yellow smoke of buddha through righteous steps.🎶
