Kendrick Lamar and the Weeknd are among the hottest artists in the urban contemporary music scene these days, which is why they're representing in the Artist of the Year at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards. Kendrick scored a mega hit with "HUMBLE," but he most definitely doesn't need to be humble with eight total award nominations. But the Weeknd has been a consistent hit-maker and isn't too far behind because "Reminder" garnered five nominations. Who will win Artist of the Year? 🏆🎤

On Aug. 27, the 2017 Video Music Awards is honoring the top artists who succeeded in the art of making musical visuals. But the Tylt is predicting the winner in one of the top category—Artist of the Year. All six nominees will face off in the first round of our online poll. The top three finalists will face off in a Twitter poll before the last two contenders face off in our final online poll. Participants can actually vote for the awards at MTV.com.

Kendrick is the most nominated artist with eight nominations—including Best Visual Effects, Best Choreography, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Hip Hop Video and Video of the Year for "HUMBLE." These nods are on top of Artist of the Year. Yep, the greatest rapper of a generation deserves to win big.
