Q&A: With musical artist Michael Love Michael

Socially conscience artists don't show up everyday but Michael Love Michael is standing on the right side of history. The singer and songwriter is using their platform to elevate marginalized voices and to promote healing oneself. Michael sat down with The Tylt to discuss their upcoming album, how they decided on their stage name, and their latest single, "JFC" which celebrates Black voices and freedom. Catch it all below.


Q: I love your name, Michael Love Michael, talk to me about it…

A: So Michael Love Michael is a chosen name…and I came up with it interestingly enough after I left a job, and I was seeing a shaman. She was doing powerful healing sessions with me…

Q: How would you describe your sound?

A: I would genuinely call it pop, and what people get wrong with pop is that people think it sounds like bubble gum or it has to be like a Britney Spears song which is obviously pop.

Q: What do you want people to know about you through your music?

A: I just hope that when people hear it they think of what is possible for themselves...
