Favorite TV superhero ensemble: 'The Gifted' or 'Legends of Tomorrow'?
Despite their differences, both shows are related to more A-List superhero storylines. "The Gifted" takes place in a post-X-Men world. "Legends of Tomorrow" spun off from "Arrow" and "The Flash." In each series, lesser-known characters are given a chance to shine.
"Legends" struggled at first to find itself, eventually opting for a more comedic tone, while "The Gifted" has been a tense ride from the start.
Since the beginning of the X-Men, mutants have been Marvel’s stand-in for the oppressed, whether mirroring racial minorities, the religiously persecuted or immigrants. "The Gifted" takes place after the X-Men have been defeated, in a world of intense persecution. It focuses on a family of mutants on the run, discovering their powers and trying to stay safe.
"Legends of Tomorrow" features a rotating cast of super-powered misfits who travel through time, correcting and causing temporal anomalies. The show’s been a great way to showcase fun characters normally overshadowed by the big names of The CW's Arrowverse.
