Pop girl group of the year: Little Mix of Fifth Harmony?

Join the conversation and vote below

There aren't many thriving girl groups but the world has two quartets slaying the game. U.K.'s Little Mix and America's Fifth Harmony continue to serve up some epic girl power in 2017. Little Mix won U.K.'s "X Factor" in 2011, and now they have four successful albums under their belt. While Camila Cabello went solo in late 2016, Fifth Harmony persevered as a quartet — adding the smash "Down" to their collection of hits. Both acts support each other, but who's the reigning girl group in 2017? 🎤

The Votes Are In!

It's the end of the year! And we're facing-off the best songs, albums, movies, TV shows, video games, sports, pro athletes and entertainers of 2017. The "Best of 2017" is chosen by a combination of popularity, impact, acclaim, rankings and/or amount sold. But ultimately, we want you to let us know who and what from 2017 won the year in each category.

Little Mix and Fifth Harmony held it down for girl groups in 2017. But who's the ultimate pop group of the year?

And don't forget to cast your vote for these other end of year debates:

Little Mix has been killing the game since they won the U.K. version of the "X Factor" in 2011. The ladies now have four successful albums to the group's name: "DNA," "Salute," "Get Weird," and "Glory Days." They also scored four #1 hits in the U.K. with "Cannonball," "Wings," "Black Magic" and "Shout Out to My Ex."

If anything, LM has proven that girl power still exists in Great Britain, even after the Spice Girls completely shut down the game in 1996. All four ladies sing lead, dance and harmonize in-sync with one another. Their versatile voices, eclectic sound and musical styles perfectly compliment each other.

5H is just now finding their footing as a quartet in 2017, but LM are still intact and have been slaying as a foursome for six years now. The group's tenacious girl power and longevity show they are pretty much unstoppable.

OK, sure Fifth Harmony didn't win the U.S. version of "X Factor" in 2012, but they made it to the top three, and how many other acts from U.S. version of that show can you name? Probably none at the moment.

Fifth Harmony gas filled the void for an American girl group with international appeal and success. They not only have worldwide hits "Work from Home" and "Worth It," but a string of other successful fierce anthems: "Miss Movin' ON," "Bo$$," "Sledgehammer" and "That's My Girl."

Fifth Harmony went from cute, young pop singers to empowered pop divas. But they also have gone through a lineup change with Camila embarking on her solo career in 2017. The four remaining ladies are just now gaining momentum again, but they have already persevered as a quartet with a string of awards, epic performances, a new hit single and an upcoming third studio album. Although Camila was significant to the group's success, the quartet definitely has been "better together" ever since late 2016.

Even with your typical American girl group drama, 5H has managed to successfully continue the legacy of their foremothers (The Supremes, En Vogue, Destiny's Child, TLC, etc.). Unfortunately, even with worldly success, Little Mix has only found moderate success on the U.S. charts. But 5H has broken into the U.K. and many other pop markets, embodying the fierceness of previous American girl groups from the '90s and '00s.

Check out these significant to Little Mix's latest hit anthem "Power" below, per Genius.

🎶Oh, I'm a machine when I do it. I'll be catching fire, gasoline when I do it. Just 'cause you're packin', packin', whoop, down south. That don't mean I'm ever gonna take it lying down, baby.🎶

Genius has some notable lyrics to 5H's summertime jam, "Down," which was their first hit as a quartet.

🎶I need somebody with some patience. 'Cause you know I got a temperament. And yeah, you got a reputation. Nothin' that a little love can't fix. There ain't no kind of situation. Where I wouldn't cross a line for you. FBI interrogation. I would get up there and lie for you.🎶

#TeamLittleMix because the success of their fourth album "Glory Days" and endless girl power make them the greatest girl group in 2017! 💪💁🏻💁🏼💁🏽💁🏾

#TeamFifthHarmony because "Down" proves even as a quartet, 5H still slays above all other girl groups out today! 💯💋
