There aren't many thriving girl groups, but two quartets have slayed the game in the name of female empowerment this past decade. Little Mix continues to serve up some epic girl power, long after winning U.K.'s "X Factor" in 2011. Now LM have four successful albums to their name. While the ladies of Fifth Harmony went through lineup changes, and all have since gone solo, they filled a void as a quintet and persevered as a quartet. Both acts supported each other, but which girl group reigns supreme?

Little Mix has been killing the game since they won the U.K. version of the "X Factor" in 2011. The ladies now have four successful albums to the group's name: "DNA," "Salute," "Get Weird," and "Glory Days." They also scored four #1 hits in the U.K. with "Cannonball," "Wings," "Black Magic" and "Shout Out to My Ex."

If anything, LM has proven that girl power still exists in Great Britain, even after the Spice Girls completely shut down the game in 1996. All four ladies sing lead, dance and harmonize in-sync with one another. Their versatile voices, eclectic sound, and musical styles perfectly compliment each other.

5H just found their footing as a quartet in 2017 and then went on hiatus in 2018, but LM is still intact and has been slaying as a foursome for seven years now. The group's tenacious girl power and longevity show they are pretty much unstoppable.

#TeamLittleMix because the success of their four albums and endless girl power make them the greatest girl group out today! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿพ

Okay, so Fifth Harmony didn't win the U.S. version of "X Factor" in 2012, but they made it to the top three, and how many other acts from U.S. version of that show can you name? Probably none.

Fifth Harmony filled the void for an American girl group with international appeal and success. They not only have worldwide hits "Work from Home" and "Worth It," but a string of other successful fierce anthems: "Miss Movin' ON," "Bo$$," "Sledgehammer," and "That's My Girl."

Fifth Harmony went from cute, young pop singers to empowered pop divas. But they also went through a lineup change with Camila embarking on her solo career in 2017. The four remaining ladies are just now gaining momentum again, but they persevered as a quartet with a string of awards, epic performances, a new string of bops and a self-titled third studio album. But like all great pop groups, the remaining members went on hiatus in early 2018. Harmonizers will miss them as an united group, but each girl has embarked on her own solo endeavors.ย

Even with your typical American girl group drama, 5H managed to successfully continue the legacy of their foremothers (En Vogue, Destiny's Child, TLC, etc.), while embodying the fierceness of those same previous American girl groups from the '90s and '00s.

#TeamFifthHarmony because they filled a void as a slaying quintet and then persevered as a quartet before embarking on solo careers. ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’‹

Check out 5H's very first performance as a quartet, at the People's Choice Awards, below. From that moment, we knew "they weren't worried about nothin.' They weren't worried about nada."
