Kendrick Lamar and Cardi B are arguably the best male and female emcees of the year, but we are wondering who dominated rap music overall in 2017? Cardi had a record-breaking breakthrough with her #1 smash "Bodak Yellow." It significantly grew her fanbase—Bardi Gang—in the process. But Kendrick's masterful, chart-topping LP "Damn" is just another example why he's regarded as the greatest rapper of this generation. So, who's the emcee of the year? 🎤

The Votes Are In!

It's the end of the year! And we're facing-off the best songs, albums, movies, TV shows, video games, sports, pro athletes and entertainers of 2017. Kendrick and Cardi killed the rap game in 2017. But who's the emcee of the year?

And don't forget to cast your vote for these other end of year debates:

Kendrick released his chart-topping album "Damn" and #1 pop hit "Humble," which is revered as one of the best albums and songs of 2017. Kendrick scored seven Grammy nominations—including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. We don't call the socially-conscious lyricist the greatest rapper of this generation for nothing.

Below are some notable lyrics to "Humble," per Genius

🎶Ayy, I remember syrup sandwiches and crime allowances. Finesse a nigga with some counterfeits, but now I’m countin' this. Parmesan where my accountant lives; in fact, I'm downin’ this. D'USSÉ with my boo bae tastes like Kool-Aid for the analysts.🎶

Cardi B is on the rise because she's talented and her Cinderella story resonates with people. She went from stripper to social media star to reality star to rap superstardom. "Bodak Yellow" topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming revered as one of the best songs of 2017. "Bodak Yellow" won Single of the Year at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards. Cardi is also nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

It's just like Cardi rapped in the smash 'Bodak Yellow,'

🎶Said, 'Lil bitch, you can't fuck with me if you wanted to.'These expensive, these is red bottoms, these is bloody shoes. Hit the store, I can get 'em both, I don't wanna choose. And I'm quick, cut a nigga off, so don't get comfortable, look. I don't dance now, I make money moves.🎶
