Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars both dominated music in 2017. Now, both superstars are nominated for Artist of the Year at the 2017 AMAs. Bruno released his top-selling third studio album "24K Magic" late last year; the album's commercial success only grew with the mega-smash "That's What I Like" and pop ballad "Versace on the Floor."  Kendrick is regarded as this generation's greatest rapper; if anything his latest top-selling effort "Damn" proves this. Who will win Artist of the Year? 🎤 🏆

On Nov. 19, 2017, the American Music Awards is honoring the most popular music acts in America. The Tylt is predicting the winners in the Artist of the Year category. Fans can vote can officially on the AMAs website.

The artists nominated for Artist of the Year are some of the most prolific in the pop music game today. Unfortunately, we couldn't include all five nominees in our Tylt bracket. It was a tough call, but we decided to leave off the Chainsmokers.

Kendrick slaughtered Drake, and Bruno slayed Ed Sheeran in round one. Now it's Kendrick vs. Bruno!

Kendrick scored another mega-hit with his "Damn" LP. Some fans might even argue his latest effort is better than "To Pimp A Butterfly." Kendrick is considered this generation's greatest rapper/emcee/lyricist. MTV and music fans recognized this, resulting in a Video of the Year win at the 2017 VMAs. (Though, he lost Artist of the Year to Ed Sheeran.) But as the most respected emcee, he might be walking home with Artist of the Year this time around.

Kendrick is also nodded for Favorite Artist—Rap/Hip-Hop, Favorite Album—Rap/Hip-Hop, Favorite Song—Rap/Hip-Hop and Collaboration of the Year.

Below are some notable lyrics to "Humble," per Genius.

🎶 Ayy, I remember syrup sandwiches and crime allowances. Finesse a nigga with some counterfeits, but now I’m countin' this. Parmesan where my accountant lives; in fact, I'm downin’ this. D'USSÉ with my boo bae tastes like Kool-Aid for the analysts.🎶

Bruno has had quite the year. But some critics have blasted him for appropriating black culture—case and point winning Best Male R&B/Pop Artist at the 2017 BET Awards. But many Hooligans argue it's cultural appreciation. He's not co-opting anything that isn't authentic to who he is as a musician of color. But it's no surprise that Bruno is heavily influenced by funk, soul, hip-hop and contemporary R&B. His love for various music genres influenced "24K Magic," which resulted in another hit album for the crooner.

With hits "24K Magic (the title track)," That's What I Like," Versace on the Floor" and "Perm" under his belt—no wonder he leads AMA nominations. Bruno also scored nods in Video of the Year, Favorite Male Artist—Pop/Rock, Favorite Album—Pop/Rock, Favorite Male Artist—Soul/R&B, Favorite Album—Soul/R&B, Favorite Song—Soul/R&B and Favorite Artist—Adult Contemporary. Whew. He's bound to win big.

Below are some notable lyrics to "That's What I Like," per Genius.

🎤 Gold jewelry shining so bright. Strawberry champagne on ice. Lucky for you, that's what I like, that's what I like. Lucky for you, that's what I like, that's what I like.🎤
