Who would win in an all-out brawl: Justice League or the Avengers?

DC Comics and Marvel Comics have been going head-to-head for decades. Yet, nothing stokes geek rage like the argument over which superhero team would win in a fight: DC's Justice League or Marvel's the Avengers. The Justice League's heavy-hitters are considered more powerful; DC Comics does have Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman. But the Avengers boast a roster of bonafide Marvel badasses—including Iron Man, Thor and Captain America. Which team would win in a fight? 👊

Representing the Justice League: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Flash (Barry Allen), Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, and Green Arrow.

The case for the Justice League:

It's pretty simple. There is no Avenger that can take either Superman or Wonder Woman. These two could easily take Hulk and Thor. They might break a sweat. Can Hulk fly? Yeah, that would be useful after Superman throws him into space. I imagine Wonder Woman and Superman having plenty of energy to help out any other Justice League members that could be struggling. But seriously, who would struggle? The Flash would run circles around Black Panther, and Green Lantern would take care of Iron Man while sitting down.

The best fight to watch would be Captain America vs. Batman. These two are pretty evenly matched. In the end, however, Batman has the wild card edge. He has a dark place where he draws inspiration. Captain America, on the other hand, is almost a century too late to be relevant. I'll even give Ant-Man beating Aquaman, fine. But that only buys Ant-Man a little time before he ends up under the heel of Martian Manhunter.

Assembling as Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers), Black Panther, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Ant-Man.

The case for the Avengers:

First off, can you believe this guy? Like no one can take Superman, really? There's video proof of Hulk smashing the crap out of the Man of Steel. Speaking of Hulk, he's the strongest one there is! Superman is a one-dimensional, goody-two shoes who, yes, can fight. Hulk, on the hand, has more than enough anger to smash "puny" Superman to oblivion. As for the rest of the Avengers—who are much more complex, layered and interesting—they can easily take down their opponents' powerhouses. Captain Marvel would take down Wonder Woman with her energy blasts. Ant-Man is a crafty little guy who can totally hit Flash with a one hitter quitter. Flash wouldn't see it coming, literally.

Meanwhile, Black Panther at top speed and agility would rip Fish Boy ... oops, Aquaman ... to shreds with his claws. Black Canary fights dirty and has a sonic scream, but Black Widow is a much more acrobatic, agile fighter than Canary. Hawkeye would shoot off Green Arrow's dumb mustache. If Martian Manhunter phased through Thor's thunder, no worries, because the thunder would start a fire around J'onn J'onzz, which is his weakness. Thor follows it up with a single hammer swing. Problem solved. One thing is agreeable. The best fight would be Cap versus Bats, but the former is a super soldier who has more heart than any hero in all of DC Comics! He might be old, but he still got it going on.
