J. Lo has been doing her thing since she was a Fly Girl dancer on "In Living Color" in the early '90s. She left the show to pursue an acting career—starring on the short-lived shows "Second Chances," "South Central" and "Hotel Malibu" before getting her big break as the iconic Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in "Selena" in 1997. Big roles in "Anaconda" and "Out of Sight" followed before she launched her music career in 1999.

J. Lo released her debut "On the 6" in 1999, contributing heavily to the success of the Latin pop movement of the late '90s. Her first single "If You Had My Love" topped the Billboard Hot 100. "I'm Real," "Ain't It Funny (Murder Remix)" and "All I Have" all topped the pop chart in the aughts, cementing J. Lo as an icon.

Shakira released her first Spanish-language album "Magia" in 1991. She released three more Spanish-language LPs throughout the '90s before releasing her fifth studio album "Laundry Service" in 2001.

"Laundry Service" is her first English-language album, breaking her into the U.S. pop market. "Whenever, Wherever" peaked within the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Hot Latin Songs. Shakira continued to successfully belly dance her way throughout the aughts with top 10 hits like "Underneath Your Clothes," "Hips Don't Lie" and "Beautiful Liar" with Beyoncé.
