Below is the synopsis of "The Hunger Games," per IMDb.

Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games: a televised competition in which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.

Katniss is a modern day geek heroine. She volunteers to take her sister's place as a tribute in the Hunger Games. She wins the games—twice—and then leads a revolution for liberation from the dictatorship of President Coin and Panem's Hunger Games. That's pretty badass! Hence, Katniss is the reason why J.Law became so popular with younger audiences.

Below is the synopsis of "X-Men: Days of Future Past," the second installment in the most recent "X-Men" trilogy, per IMDb.

The X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.

In the film, J.Law plays a more mature and deadlier version of Mystique than in "First Class." She tries to assassinate Dr. Bolivar Trask in order to save mutants from the Sentinel program. Her DNA was collected and used to help the killer robots adapt to mutant powers. But in the end, Mystique becomes a hero to future generations of mutants when Professor X reasons with her not to assassinate anyone. (This also changes the entire course of U.S. history!)

J.Law's role as Mystique gave the character much more depth than Rebecca Romijn's sexpot version in the original "X-Men" trilogy. It's not only one of J.Law's most memorable roles, but she's also reprising the character in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix."

Check out a badass clip of J.Law as Mystique below.
