"The Blueprint" topped the Billboard 200, receiving both universal acclaim and commercial success. Jay-Z was also facing criminal charges and involved in several rap feuds at the time. Yet, the rapper persevered, and many music critics and fans praise this album for its lyrics and production values.

While "Reasonable Doubt" isn't Jay's most commercially-successful album, it's his breakthrough LP... and many hip-hop heads revere the classic as the rap icon's best work. Sometimes, the original can't be topped, even with many more great works to come—and that's saying a lot. Many music critics praise the album for detailing Jay's life as a hustler, and his ascent as a notable lyricist.
