Who is this generation's King of R&B: Jacquees or Chris Brown?
Jacquees is on fire right now. He may not have as many hits as Chris Brown, yet, but the Atlanta native is on an impressive track. Jacquees blew up from remixing other artists songs, which he calls "quemixs." He covered Daniel Caesar's "Get You" and when his version of Ella Mai's "Trip" started to outperform the original, he was forced to take down his version. The singer also had four tracks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart thus far.
Chris Brown broke out in 2005 when his first single "Run It" topped the Billboard Hot 100. Breezy is a millennial. So he qualifies more as this generation's King of R&B. Brown is loved for his vocal ability and trendy dance moves. He's charted 90 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 to date, but with another #1 pop hit "Kiss Kiss," in addition to "Run It." R&B fans are saying there is no debate to be had, Brown is today's R&B King. Period.
