Is the 'Warcraft' movie really that bad? | The Tylt
People are pretty much split on this weekend's big movie release, Warcraft, which is based on the very popular video game series and novels. From fans to critics: what do you know?!!
So far, Warcraft is the worst reviewed blockbuster of the summer. Ouch!
Fans of Warcraft are super loyal and aren't letting critics scare them away from a movie that's been in the making for 10 years. WOW! The film has already raked in $171 million worldwide, as of Friday, June 10.
For those of you who don't know about this beloved series, the movie's synopsis:
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people, and their home.
Sounds pretty darn interesting if you ask us! But our friends at ComiConverse describe the film as this year's Fantastic Four (2015), and that film stunk like rotten broccoli! ComiConverse called the Orcs cartoonish and others blasted the film's CGI altogether. Is this another video game-to-movie flop! Mortal Kombat anyone?
Loyal fans, of course, disagree. They say the film is actually the first successful video game-to-film adaptation — admiring how it stays true to the series (which is also debatable).
So after you munch on your popcorn, tell us what you think: #WarcraftMovieGood or #WarcraftMovieBad?
