Is the latest season a sign that 'Top Gear' is dead? | The Tylt
Matt LeBlanc is threatening to quit the the UK Top Gear. The former hosts, still popular with fans, are starting a new show. Is this the beginning of the end for the storied TV show?
After the dismissal of Jeremy Clarkson and the departure of Richard Hammond, and James May from the BBC show, many fans were worried that the Top Gear was dead in the water. But the BBC forged onward and replaced the three with a revolving cast, among them Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans.
A lot of fans cried fouled because viewers of the show know that it was just as much about the magic that happened when Clarkson, Hammond and May came together as it was the cars and stunts they pulled. So it’s a no brainer that the new Top Gear sucks. It’s just not Top Gear without those three.
Their new show, which comes out in the second half of 2016, may just be the final nail in the coffin for Top Gear.
Is the new Top Gear a failure?
There are a lot of people who hold out hope that Top Gear can find its groove. Top Gear was a great show and it just needs time to get the right vibe going with the new hosts. There will be growing pains, but it’s a successful model.
What do you think about the new season? #TopGearDead or #LongLiveTopGear?
