Is the 'It' reboot overhyped? | The Tylt
The highly anticipated "It" has finally hit theaters, and critics are calling the film horrifying. The motion picture reboot of the 1990 TV miniseries holds a 90 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But not everyone is on board for the reboot, many fans still prefer the original miniseries and Tim Curry's performance. Others are calling the film overrated because eh, there aren't any original horror movies anymore. What do you think? 😲 🎈

Showbiz Junkies' Rebecca Murray writes "It" is truly terrifying.
King’s It was made into a miniseries in 1990 with Tim Curry taking on the role of Pennywise. Curry was fantastic and terrifying in the role, and Bill Skarsgård had gigantic shoes to fill when he accepted the part in the 2017 feature film. Fortunately for King loyalists and horror enthusiasts in general, Skarsgård doesn’t disappoint. His Pennywise the Dancing Clown will haunt your nightmares.
But BET's Clay Cane writes the only thing really horrifying about the remake is how Pennywise looks.
The terror is solely dependent on Pennywise, played by Bill Skarsgård. While his performance is incredibly strong, an overly CGI-ed killer clown who looks like a drag queen in need of a solid lace front just isn't scary in 2017. Similar to how the Nightmare Elm Street remake bombed, Freddy Krueger was only fearful for its time.
Some moviegoers are saying the new "It" definitely lives up to the original.
IT was absolutely one of the best horror films I've seen. Funny, terrifying & genuine while paying great homage to original. #ITMovie
