"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" finally hits theaters on Nov. 18. Skeptics weren't too sure about J.K. Rowling's "Potter" prequel during production. Now that the film's out, some critics still don't think it lives up to the Harry Potter legacy. But others argue it's just as magical as any film in the "Potter" franchise. What do you think? After the phenomenal "Harry Potter" franchise, fans and critics alike have high expectations. For many, "Fantastic Beasts" meets those expectations. For some, it's just an okay film, but when you compare to the previous franchise—maybe not so much.
But other film critics are calling the film "magical" and a worthy prequel to the "Harry Potter" franchise.
If fans and critics compare the prequel with the previous franchise, the prequel might lose every time.
BBC's film critic Nicholas Barber gave "Fantastic Beasts" 4 out of 5 stars.
There are Potter fans who just want to dislike "Fantastic Beasts." Hence, they'll admit the film is okay, but not better than the previous franchise.
Others say the film is truly phenomenal.
