Laurie Strode was just an innocent babysitter looking after a couple of kids on Halloween, but a maniac (revealed to be her brother in the "Halloween II") stalked her while killing off her friends. Laurie discovered their bodies before being attacked by Michael Myers. She managed not only to survive, but save the kids too. (But did she get paid?)

Remember this super scary closet scene?! And oh, did we mention that actress Jamie Lee Curtis is the ultimate scream queen, too? Take that, Sidney!

Laurie grew up! 20 years after the original "Halloween" came out in 1978, Laurie changed her name and faked her death, but her brother Michael finally found her in "Halloween: H20." This time around she was ready for him.

And [SPOILER]... Laurie chopped off her brother's head (or at least she thought she did). Eh, either way... still badass!

But.... Laurie didn't actually kill her brother. (He wasn't in the body bag like she thought.) Michael killed an officer and swapped places. In "Halloween Resurrection," Michael found his sister and finally killed her off. So... Laurie is no longer a final girl. For real real.

But after four films, Sidney Prescott hasn't been offed yet! She is the ultimate horror movie survivor!

In the original "Scream," Sidney's boyfriend and his best friend copy slasher horror formulas and go on vengeful killing spree—blaming Sidney and her deceased mother for ruining their lives.

Take a look at where it all started. Actress Neve Campbell was clearly perfect for "Scream," and she proved that in her screen test audition. Even in the audition, Neve managed to deconstruct sexism in the slasher horror genre while capturing the essence of a formulaic final girl archetype. And who knew that this audition was the beginning of Sidney becoming a feminist horror icon?

Sidney might have lost her virginity in the film to her psychotic boyfriend, but she still survived and kicked some Ghostface ass!

Did we mention that Sidney kicks ass?!
