"Hocus Pocus" fans have been longing for a sequel for years, but Disney recently announced a reboot. Skeptics are upset the original cast of Sanderson sisters won't return. Bette Midler slammed the reboot, saying “I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” Wow! With Bette already dissing the reboot, critics argue the film might not deliver. But some fans are optimistic that a reboot might retain the charm but with a new, diverse cast. Will the reboot flop?

After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to their reign of terror once and for all.

It's not the most popular opinion, but some fans can envision a "Hocus Pocus" with a fresh and diverse cast. 

But generations of Disney fans have fallen in love with the original film. Why does there need to be a reboot? Fans and even the original cast wanted a sequel. So Bette ain't having it, according to People.

“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” she told PEOPLE Monday at the New York Restoration Project’s Hulaween party, which Midler hosts.

And when it comes to Midler’s original character of lead witch Winifred Sanderson, the actress said it’ll be tough to recast the role.

“I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character,” she said. “My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”
