David Harbour says his take on "Hellboy" is grittier and more emotionally volatile than the older, more balanced Ron Perlman films. This R-Rated adaptation is far more violent than its predecessor, and the set design and costuming draws more closely from the comic than the 2004 film did. This new film is energetic, adventurous and crazy fun that could surpass the original.

Ron Perlman is Hellboy. Period. No offense to David Harbour, but come on. No one is going to embody the gruff power and cool of Hellboy better than Perlman. That's not even mentioning Del Toro's amazing visuals. The new film relies far more heavily on CGI than Del Toro's version, which brought us a perfect blend of his own visions and Mignola's.
