Is 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' running time too long?

Some fans can't get enough of the "Happy Potter" franchise. This includes the movies, books, and the stage production. But "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" has a running time of 5 hours and 15 minutes and is broken up into two different staged parts. Some argue that's entirely too long, but "The Cursed Child" has been earning rave reviews ever since it opened in London in July 2016. Now the play is on Broadway! But can you sit through a two-part play?

Why care about the length of "The Cursed Child"? If the play is good then the play is good. And many theatre critics and theatre-goers have been raving about the series for two years. Variety's Matt Trueman wrote:

It is, quite simply, spellbinding: The Show That Lived Up to Expectations — and Then Some. Three years after J. K. Rowling announced her boy wizard would hit the stage, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” — no mere rehash, but a whole new chapter — proves a proper theatrical blockbuster. Not just at the box office, but onstage as well: a captivating story given a spectacular staging and — Rowling’s specialty — a big, big heart. Twenty years ago, Harry Potter turned a generation onto reading. “The Cursed Child” could do the same for theater.

While some fans really aren't feeling the length of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child," others don't like the play or book at all.
