'Grey's Anatomy' fans, are you Team Karev or Team DeLuca?
If you are a "Grey's Anatomy" fan who hasn't watch the season 12 finale or the season 13 premiere then we're sorry, but this debate has brought in many perspectives about loving a character (or a person) who has done something really bad, and hence, making exceptions to justify the crime.
In a way, the show's lead character Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) represents how many fans feel about Dr. Karev (Justin Chambers). They grown to love the character over the course of 11 years and 13 seasons, but at the end of season 12 Dr. Karev acted on pure impulse and rage—completely misreading the situation at hand.
Dr. DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) was trying to get Dr. Wilson (Camilla Luddington) in bed, when she accidentally pulled him on top of her, and Dr. Karev happened to walk in at the wrong time. He automatically reacted by punching Dr. DeLuca...in the face... several times. Fans have waited nearly four months to see what happens next. Well, Karev ended up taking DeLuca to hospital, and by the end of season 13's premiere episode Karev turned himself in. DeLuca in the following episode switch the charge from a misdemeanor to felony charge. Whoa!
No matter if you like the character's history or even the actor, excusing the violence of Dr. Karev (or a real-life person for that matter because this kind of thing could happen in reality) isn't right!
