'Game of Thrones' reveals yet another incredible plot twist | The Tylt
*Spoiler alert: if you haven't seen Season Six, Episode 2, watch it before reading this!
"Game of Thrones" fans were devastated when the long-suffering Jon Snow was betrayed and murdered by his Night's Watch kinsman in the Season Five finale. Speculation raged for months: could such an important and beloved character really be dead? Well, in Season Six's May 1 episode, it looks like the witch Melisandre has actually brought Jon back from the dead, Lazarus-style.
Was Jon Snow's fate the worst kept "Game of Thrones" secret ever?
Granted, the series' creators have shown zero qualms about killing off beloved central characters (Red Wedding, anyone?). A lot of the show's excitement, realism, and darkness stems from the fact that no one is safe. On the other hand, even the actor who plays Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) told interviewers, “I’ve been told I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m not coming back next season.”
Was the resurrection of Jon Snow a shocking plot twist? Or completely predictable?
