No other singer ever approached Freddie Mercury, and that's a fact. And it’s unlikely anyone ever will, considering his mutant vocal chords. But it was not just his sonic range that mattered; his emotional range went from heartache to bravado and sounded like the world’s coolest opera.

Robert Plant is #TeamFreddieMercury. Hard to argue with that.

A tribute to Heathrow's most famous former baggage handler.

For twelve years, Led Zeppelin’s sound paired Plant’s vocal dynamism with the intriguing guitar virtuosity of Jimmy Page. Together they could sound betrayed, confident, angry, or proud. In his prime he sounded like a bluesman from Valhalla.

A special skill set.

Then again, Freddie loved Led Zeppelin.
