Acclaimed actress Idina Menzel responded with openness to the 'Give Elsa A Girlfriend' in Frozen 2 campaign. However, Elsa isn't the only Disney-affiliated character that fans want to see as gay. Fans are pushing Marvel to #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend.

Should Marvel give Captain America a boyfriend? Or should Marvel create new LGBT superheroes?

Captain America has appeared in three of his own blockbusters (starring Chris Evans) and two Avengers movies. In his films, he's had three key romances or relationships: Peggy Carter, Black Widow (Natasha Romanova) and Sharon Carter. He even had a son with Black Widow in the direct-to-video animated movie Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow.

However even if Marvel gets the message, some fans don't want to see any changes to existing characters.

Many of those arguing against #DontGiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend claim not to be anti-LGBT, but point out that Captain America isn't gay. He's a straight, cisgender, white guy, and he has been since his creation in 1941. Instead, some fans and critics recommend creating more representations of LGBT super-heroic characters, which Marvel (and DC) need a lot more of anyway.

Captain America will appear in the next two Avengers sequels under the working titles Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 in 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 in 2019. Some feel it's the perfect opportunity to introduce Cap as gay.

What do you think: #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend or #DontGiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend?

Some Marvel fans feels heteronormativity is forced … with almost EVERY character.
They are tired of seeing every popular superhero character as a straight white guy.
Many fans want to see Cap and Bucky in a relationship.
Fan: It makes more sense for Cap to date Bucky or another guy then to date his ex’s (Peggy) niece (Sharon).
Some don’t want to see an existing character change. Instead, some have suggested creating more LGBT superheroes.
