Eartha Kitt was a boss in more ways than one. Her playing Catwoman was a pure depiction of said boss attitude. Her long-lasting popularity as the character were not only due to her natural sass or her snappy dialogue, but that voice. It’s like smoke drifting from a harem, which, basically, is how we’ve imagined Catwoman sounding all our lives. Can’t agree? No one asked you.

Her crimes were also poignantly, dare we say (we do), catty. Like when she caused everyone to have a bad hair day. And boy, did we love her ragging on Batgirl all day long. Batgirl stunk.

We bow at Julie Newmar’s feet for being the first woman to fully bring Catwoman to life. And boy, the world could not have gotten a better introduction to the character. Newmar was one-part coy, one-part dominant, and all parts sexy, which was pretty hard to do on a kids' show in the sixties. Even Batman, who was well passed puberty, struggled with this more than Robin.

Even her bizarre eyebrow look didn’t keep the masses watching the show from unanimously agreeing Newmar was the "kitten caboodle" of the show. How many more cat puns are out there, you think?
