"Empire" is still slaying while in season four of the show. The season currently holds a 83 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show is definitely keeping fans interested. Entertainment Weekly's Isabella Biedenharn wrote about the season four premiere in fall 2017:
This new story line is a lot more interesting than I expected, which might solely be a testament to Terrence Howard's phenomenal acting.
While some critics have panned "Star," fans have stood by the show, which is now in its second season. Some fans even prefer the series over "Empire." Deadline's Erik Pedersen acknowledged the show's success:
Star, which follows three talented singers (Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, Brittany O’Grady) as they navigate the cutthroat music business on their road to success, launched last season as a 13-episode midseason show. Its Season 2 started September 27 with an Empire crossover episode and was the highest-rated episode since its series debut with a 2.4//8 in Live+7. It also post the best seven-day multiplatform audience since that January 17 kickoff.
