Emily Blunt will star as Mary Poppins. Should Disney make a sequel to the classic? | The Tylt
Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda are "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" Blunt, the star of The Huntsman: Winter's War and Miranda, the creator and star of the Broadway smash Hamilton, will star in the sequel Mary Poppins Returns.
Blunt is of course the title role and Miranda is playing a new character, Jack the lamplighter. And some fans of the original Mary Poppins (1964) are being shady as hell about it. Should Disney really make a sequel to the widely-acclaimed classic?
Some critics say there's no Mary Poppins without Julie Andrews — who won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1965. Others love the original so much that they are excited about the character's return. The film is set for release on Dec. 25, 2018. In the meantime, both the shade and excitement will continue, we're sure.
What do you think: #NoNewMaryPoppins or #YesNewMaryPoppins?

I WANT to believe it is possible for a MARY POPPINS sequel in 2018 to work. I really, really, REALLY do.— Tony Goldmark (@tonygoldmark) May 31, 2016
