Most popular hip-hop artist: Drake or Post Malone?

Pretty much everything that Drake and Post Malone drop turn into gold these days. Both rapper-singers have become known as rulers of the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 in the last few years. Drake rose to prominence in 2009, but since "Views," he's been unstoppable—winning countless Billboard awards. Post Malone has been unbeatable ever since he proclaimed he's a "rockstar" on his chart-topping hit of the same name. While Drake has had a crap-ton of success since "Best I Ever Had" dropped in 2009, he's ruled not only the Billboard 200, but the Hot 100 in the last few years, as well. "Hotline Bling" peaked at #2 and "One Dance" topped the Hot 100 and was crowned Song of the Summer in 2016, becoming his first hit without Rihanna to make it to #1 on the chart. "Views" also became his fourth consecutive chart-topping album on the Billboard 200 chart in 2016.

His success hasn't stopped there. In 2018, he scored three mega hits: "God's Plan," "Nice For What" and "In My Feelings." "Scorpion" gave Drake yet another chart-topping LP that year, too. In 2019, the Grammy award-winning artist hasn't stopped producing bops. "Money in the Grave" featuring Rick Ross peaked at #3 on the Hot 100. Watch the music video below.

Post Malone dropped his chart-topping smash "Rockstar", featuring 21 Savage, in 2017, and that's exactly what he is—a rockstar. Since then, his sophomore album "Beerbongs & Bentleys" (2018) and "Hollywood's Bleeding" (2019) topped the Billboard 200, and he's scored more mega hits too. "Psycho" peaked in the Hot 100, while "Better Now" came in at #3. But it's the chart-topping "Sunflower" with Swae Lee that's been a long-lasting smash throughout 2019.

Since he dropped "Sunflower" in late 2018, "Wow," "Goodbyes," "Circles" and "Take What You Want" have all gone on to become top 10 Hot 100 smashes. Watch the music video to "Wow" below.
